Just a quickie because you've left me with a lot of catching up to do! (Not a complaint, I take it as a great compliment that you have taken the time to leave so many reviews).

It is so true that in the absence of a familiar, ever present sound, every little noise can seem disproportionately loud and worrying and you have conveyed that notion very convincingly here, there is a real sense of everyone being on edge.

Typical Laura putting a brave face on it for everyone else, good thing she has Bill to rely on. Lovely moment between them at the end. Thank you.
