I've been talking to Hugh about this, have a few tips and advice that could help you.

If you have good credit, push as much of your debt on to a 0% credit card or two. For this you'll need to shop around to see where you can get the best deal. Egg.Com offer a 6 month 0% rate, after a year they will offer you another 6 month 0% rate period. In the meantime you can get another 0% rate card, and shift your balance around. This can take some of the stress off immediately, but you have to be careful not to relax about it too much and just leave it there!

Cut up your credit cards and store cards! Store cards especially, the interest can be a killer ( ... )

Check local and internet shops / discount shops for sale or discount items to sell on for profit. We've found that DVD box sets sell particularly well on Ebay, e.g £20 item on sale from Amazon, can sometimes sell for twice that amount on Ebay (which is still cheaper than most people can buy in HMV or other high street stores, which means everybody is happy ( ... )

I only have study loan, but that stresses me out enough. I'm always spending a tiny bit more than I can afford, so I feel that I never have any money. It's ridiculous really, since I have been managing my own economy since I was 16, and now I'm 29, but "WOSH" I have used my credit card on internet and the next week the mailbox is full of stuff that I really don't need right now.
