So I am sitting down to a Tassie inspired snack of salmon wrapped cream cheese on pumpernickel bread, drinking a lovely sweet white wine. I suppose it is about time I wrote about my adventures in Tassie ( Read more... )

Tasmania is indeed lovely.

Once upon a time I would also have been hesitant about whitewater rafting, but I went rafting with a group from HP when I was in Colorado, and it is actually a lot of fun... and I don't think it's really all that dangerous, if it's on a well-known stretch of river with a competent guide. (Since then I've also gone rafting at Penrith whitewater stadium, but it's not quite the same experience...) Skydiving is still out though!

You haven't heard some of the tales that my rafting mates have been telling me, and considering that some of them are the guides. I would be willing to give it a first time try at the whitewater stadium.

I would be hesitant about skydiving, but I would love to try hang-gliding.

Heh... 'tis a good thing I don't have any rafting mates then... what I don't know can't hurt me, right?

I could perhaps be convinced to try hang-gliding... though my mum is always telling me how dangerous *that* is.

:) It was a friend's dad who was giving me the warnings about sharks along seven mile beach. Gotta love parent worries. I find it easier to tell them nothing!!.

So when were you in Tassie?

I had no idea you went to Tassie. Its by far my most favourite state in the country. Haven't been back since 2002 though.
