A synopsis experiment

Just to see if I can, I'm going to write a Synopsis. For a book that has not been written.

When the rule of Ramdurik's current king is up, it is once again time for competing in the quest who's winner will become the next decade's monarch. But the current king is sick of the damaging effects of this centuries old tradition, and decides that the quest he will assign is to seek the 'Vacant Throne' which if found, will restore the true royal bloodline. And he wants his son, Greyson, to participate.

Greyson Standworth isn't exactly quest material. He's a free spirited, go-where-life-takes-you kind of guy, and the pressure of competing in a quest to rule Ramdurik doesn't really fit his style. Booted out of the castle and told not to return "until it belongs" to him, Greyson begrudgingly sets off with his calmer, more goal-oriented best friend, to find the 'Vacant Throne'. Which by the way, is widely viewed as only a myth.

With nothing but a vague and cryptic scroll to help they set out on a quest that leads them through unexpected dangers, both from rival throne-seekers, and ancient magics placed to keep the throne hidden. As his journey takes him through all parts of Ramdurik, Greyson sees with his own eyes the damaging effects changing rule from one monarch to another has had on the kingdom, and finds within himself a need to right these wrongs. That, and the shocking tyranny of rival throne-seekers drives him to now desire victory. But when he finally discovers the throne, he finds something he never could have expected.

I literally just made up the kingdom's name (Ramdurik) but I'm kind of liking it!
