A morning scan of today's science page on the Beeb brings me the following astonishing studies, brought to you by the power of the silly season. It's August, there's absolutely f-all happening in the news, but the poor buggers have to keep reporting *something*. I'm actually quite surprised by the last one. I find that not having a stressful job makes me bored and miserable, whereas a stressful one that I'm good at makes me much happier. I didn't think that was particularly unusual.

They seem to be only looking at chronic stress factors (feeling out of control) rather than acute stress factors like tight deadlines.

I'm terrible at the former and very good at the latter. So currently I'm excellent at the parts of my job that involve crisis management, but where's a crisis when I need one?
