LJ geekery question?

Jan 21, 2008 10:25

Does anyone know if any of the various widgets for backing up your LJ allow you to filter the entries by a particular tag, and back those up selectively? Failing that, can anyone point me at a decent backup tool that they've used?

It doesn't do the filtering thing you're looking for, but I use ljArchive, and it's great. You can save the whole thing as a file wherever you want, and set it to update it automatically whenever you open the program. It downloads comments and pictures as well, allows you to export in various formats if you want to, and also has all sorts of nifty tools for analysing your journal - e.g. posting frequency, who's left the most comments, and even psycho-analysis based on your vocabulary!

I have used www.ljbook.com as LJarchive is currently Windows only and I use Debain. It basically turns your LJ into a .pdf and you can specify how much and what bits you want to actually save.
