I want to know what kind of person would go to a school to protest some Veterans coming to talk to the kids about what it is to serve in the Military

I'm with you. Didn't we learn our lesson about this during Vietnam? When I was a kid, we had POWs from Hanoi Hilton come to our school and talk about their time there. Yes, they were patriotic and loved their country. But they all said essentially the same thing -- War is Hell. It's hard. It takes a long time to be able to work with those memories in your head. It takes a long time for them to even feel like a memory. They talked about how they healed. They talked about why it is important to support the troops, the vets, and the role of the military. They never talked about the politics of the war.

Now, I can see the principal canceling the talk because of the protestors. School would be disrupted all day long, if it only lasted one day. I think it is a shame that people would protest the school.
