In the aftermath of Harvestfest, Adam could feel the years creeping up on him, and sure enough, while Caitlyn and Brianna were finishing off their individual aspirations and Zoe gained another promotion, he had a quiet, rather forgotten birthday.
He did plant a cow plant, and only needed three more excellent plants to achieve his aspiration, but, he was struggling to find the energy to do the various things around the house that still needed doing. He was upgrading the kitchen, and desperately wanted to replace the fridge as it was still the original second hand one he'd bought way back when he built his first shed.... Still, the house had been extended a smidgeon, mostly to accommodate more plants in the greenhouse.
To celebrate, he decided to pack them all off to Selvadorada for a long weekend, and to see if they could bring back some good family memories, before it was too late. Of course he forgot how busy they could all be, and although they bought home many more simoleons than they had taken, along with a multitude of artifacts and lumps that the girls thought might contain artifacts, oh and an archeology table of course! They had no pictures. Except, it was Winterfest, and although Zoe, who was heavily pregnant (and no, Adam had not planned this one!) went right to bed, Adam thought a big meal was an essential, along with their tree, and presents. So he decorated the house and headed for a nap while the girls got creative with their skilling (both now working on Creative Aspiration).
Of course, he wanted to surprise his beautiful wife with something good, so with all the extra cash they'd bought back, he fitted out their bathroom as a Winterfest gift. But Zoe went into labour before he could show it to her!
