He was so naughty. Today, when music is so explicit, it's hard to appreciate, I think, how much he was pushing the envelope of innuendo. Even his name was teasingly suggestive, "The Big Bopper."

And his phrasing was outright smutty, "Baby, you knooow what I like!"

"Let me in, baby, and we'll shake the shack
I'm gonna have a ball until your grandma gets back"

He could be talking about dancing or having a party--you could play the song on the radio--but some people got it.

Also, a trivia note--The Big Bopper recorded the world's first music video and coined the term.

I also didn't realize he wrote "White Lightning".
