Supernatural 3.01
DEAN: I'm here to prove that nothing is quite as conductive to one's love life as a death sentence.
TAMARA & ISAAC: We're here to show you how inhumane this demonic war is. Oh crap.
THE BLONDE GIRL: I'm here to prove that ninjas are the new black.
THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS: Hi all, you can call The Demons of Exposition.
LUST: In Hell, we have this Snog Dean Winchester flashmob. Wanna join?
THE KNIFE OF ULTIMATE DEMISE: I'm here to prove that before sacrificing lives to get the Colt, the Winchesters should have checked whether such artifacts are not quite commonplace.
Things I loved: the whole urban fantasy war going on here, yay! business; most of the action sequences; Tamara & Isaac - yay for new hunters!
Things I feel suspicious about: Dean characterization (him saying that he's "entitled to egotism" made me cringe); the new girl; the "previously" sequence - usually it's an indication of how the show positions itself, and hey, size D boobs & fight scenes is not what I'm watching SPN for.
Pushing Daisies 1.02
...is well on its way to becoming my favourite show. While the first ep was a love story, the second one is more of a murder mystery - with all the whimsical premises magical realism can offer.
I dig it, like, a lot.
Quotes:
Chuck: You love secrets. You wanna marry secrets and have little half-secret, half-human babies.
***
Ned: What's great about knowing? When you lift up a rock, do you find whipped cream? No, you find bugs. I say "no" to knowing.
Reaper 1.02
...was not nearly as funny as ep.1. After seeing the boys fighting evil with a hoover, seeing them fighting evil with a toy car does not come like a squee-inducing surprise.
Also, I was pretty irked with the simplistic way the scriptwriters dealt with quite complex moral dilemmas.
