Ever since I started telling people that I write for kids and teens (the answer to that sometimes awkward "Oh, you wrote a book?" question, followed by the even more awkward expectant stare), I've been asked if I write picture books. I don't know why, but I've always felt a bit guilty saying no; like I needed to explain why I don't write picture

I, too, wish I could write picture books. I love them and have a couple, but right now it's the novels that have taken over.

The novels always take over! But I will try to pay some attention to this idea :-)

I've had the same experience re: Picture Books, minus the actually getting an idea. PB ideas are *hard* to come up with! Congratulations on finding one! And I love the three elements you are teasing us with...
