When receiving critique, write down everything that is said--everything--and don't respond. Put stars next to things that speak to you & X's next to things that make you mad, but otherwise put it away for hours (preferably overnight) before reading it fresh. Remember: you asked for this feedback, so take it all in and then keep what you want. (Although if 3 people say the same thing, they are most likely right!) ;-)

Critique is how we improve as writers!

Write like no one is going to read it. Don’t edit yourself worrying about what “so-and-so” might say or think about a certain scene or passage. Just write the story the way you see it.
