I feel like writing something here, but I don't have anything interesting to write, so I'm just going to do this meme I found at book_memes

1) What author do you own the most books by?
Tolkien, no doubt.

2) What book do you own the most copies of?
The Silmarillion. I have four.

3) Did it bother you that both those questions ended with prepositions?
Now it does.

4) What fictional character are you secretly in love with?
Oh, where to begin? I always fall in love with fictional characters, but for the moment it's John Granby from the Temeraire books.

5) What book have you read the most times in your life?
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, I've lost count of how manytimes I've read it.

6) What was your favorite book when you were ten years old?
Probably The Little House on the Praire

7) What is the worst book you’ve read in the past year?
I had to read The Autobiography of my Mother by Jamaica Kincaid for my Post-Colonial literature course and I really did not like it. The main character was just so... annoying and smug and generally a horrible person.

8) What is the best book you’ve read in the past year?
Of the books I read for the first time this year it must be The Song of Ice and Fire-series by George RR Martin, but I also re-read The Silmarillion and Lord of the Rings and they're above everything else.

9) If you could force everyone you know to read one book, what would it be?
Most people I know have already read Tolkien, so I'd say the Temeraire-series.

10) Who deserves to win the next Nobel Prize for Literature?
It feels like this is my answer to most of these questions, but: J.R.R, Tolkien.

11) What book would you most like to see made into a movie?
Temeraire! Please, Peter Jackson, say you'll do it!

12) What book would you least like to see made into a movie?
There are a lot of books I don't want to see as movies. But I really hope they're not going to try and make Silmarillion, it just wouldn't work.

13) Describe your weirdest dream involving a writer, book, or literary character.
Lol. There was one where some random LotR-characters were at my summer house and someone had stolen Theoden's candy...

14) What is the most lowbrow book you’ve read as an adult?
That's difficult... I guess fantasy in general is pretty lowbrow, but otherwise I can't really say.

15) What is the most difficult book you’ve ever read?
We had to read Milton's Paradise Lost for a course last term and that was probably the most incomprehensilble piece of fiction I've ever read.

16) What is the most obscure Shakespeare play you’ve seen?
I've only seen one Shakespeare play: As You Like It.

17) Do you prefer the French or the Russians?
I can't really answer that, since I haven't read much of any.

18) Roth or Updike?
Who?

19) David Sedaris or Dave Eggers?
Feeling a bit stupid here...

20) Shakespeare, Milton, or Chaucer?
Shakespeare, since I've barely read Chaucer and Milton is, as mentioned completely incomprehensible.

21) Austen or Eliot?
I haven't actually read Eliot, but I'm not a big fan of Austen either...

22) What is the biggest or most embarrassing gap in your reading?
Well, I haven't  read any of the guys mentioned above apart from Shakespeare and Austen... And I don't think I've ever read a crime-/detective-/whodunnit-story.

23) What is your favorite novel?
Do I have to pick one? I have a list...

24) Play?
I don't really like plays. I kind of learned to like Macbeth after we analysed it a bit at university, but I don't know.

25) Poem?
Mr Tamburine Man by Bob Dylan. Yes, it's a poem.

26) Essay?
Who has a favourite essay?

27) Short story?
Don't know.

28) Work of nonfiction?
Shakey: Neil Young's Biography by Jimmy Mcdonough

29) Who is your favorite writer?
J.R.R. Tolkien

30) Who is the most overrated writer alive today?
Dan Brown

31) What is your desert island book?
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

32) And… what are you reading right now?
Victory of Eagles by Naomi Novik, the last in the Temeraire-series. Again.

On a not completely different note I feel like writing Temeraire fanfiction, but I don't know what to write.

meme, temeraire, bored, lotr
