I want it to be April now!!! This looks so epic!!! Bran is adorable! The only thing that bugs me is that Dany doesn't have violet eyes. And Jaime's hair looks more brown than gold, but maybe that's just the light. Is there a reason why film makers tend to ignore such things as eye and hair colour *cough*blue-eyed-Harry-Potter*cough*? Maybe violet ( Read more... )

*FLAILS*

I don't really get filmmakers and such things as hair/eye colour. On one hand you have to ones who seem to think that they're minor details you might as well ignore, on the other you have people such as PJ who made Orlando wear lenses even though Legolas' eyecolour isn't really important to the plot (is it even mentioned? I can't remember)... Then again, PJ is PJ... ;)

I know, it's so weird. Legolas' eyecolour (or haircoulour) is never mentioned in the books. Faramir's, on the other hand, is, as we know, clearly discribed as black, but in the film it's light brown. Maybe it has to do with what looks good on the screen. M had a theory that people are so subconciously used to having dark-haired villains and light-haired heros that a dark-haired hero would be confusing. But, then again, Aragorn has dark hair.

I can kind of accept that purple eyes on Dany might look wierd, but what almost bothers me more is her eyebrows. How many people who are that blonde have that dark eyebrows? But maybe that also has to do with what looks good on film. If she had light eyebrows, maybe it would look like she didn't have any at all.

Yes, I think a lot about these things...

And so they stood on the walls on the City of Gondor, and a great wind rose and blew, and their hair, raven and golden, streamed out mingling in the air :')

Hm, I think M might very well have a very good point, which is kind of sad actually. When it comes to LotR though it's just plain weird, firstly, why go for all that trouble for a character whose hair and eyecolour isn't even described whilst ignoring those whose characteristics are, and secondly, I never understood why they didn't let Orlando "use his own eyes", blond hair and brown eyes are a much rarer combination and he's supposed to be an ethereal elf after all.

I didn't even notice her eyebrows...well, my own eyebrows are black which is considerably darker than my hair (in case you didn't know that :P) but she is really blonde. Then again, it worked pretty well for Orlando/Legolas ;)

Yes, it is wierd. Then again, they changed the whole character of Faramir pretty drastically for the film.

Maybe blue eyes seems more exotic, since it's a lot rarer in most parts of the world. I did actually think about your eyebrows, since they are pretty dark and you have blue eyes, but since you have brown hair it looks good. Then again, you count as blonde in France, don't you?:P Maybe my standards for blonde are different, since I live in Sweden. And now it kind of sounds as if I live in Sweden and you live in France. Oh well, I've had six hours of lecture today, my brain is all mashed-up. I should just stop typing now.
