Roddenberry was visualizing an Earth where people had transcended the petty differences that mess up our lives. Straczynski's version is that really? we haven't, but we want to. Not to mention, way cooler aliens and awesome spaceships. But one of the things that I liked is that B5 had a whole story, beginning, middle and end. My head is much clearer now. I couldn't distinguish between fantasy and reality.
