Personal bias?

In Ethical issues and Clients rights this afternoon, we had to write (anonymously) a personal bias/ belief that we hold against others, one that affects us enough that we do not want to be around individuals who fit in the criteria.  After, professor Senna went through and read them all for the class.  It’s amazing the things that people are ( Read more... )

that's a really really interesting assignment.
i wish i was there to hear them all.
it's kind of post secret-ish!

i'd say my personal bias was contained in my latest 'vanity' entry.

I tend to think people who use poor grammar or talk "ghetto" are less intelligent. Unless I know the person, I tend to think someone with a Southern accent is narrow-minded, maybe less educated, than other American accents.

I think we're loosing intellectual progress to a group of thugs, largely composed of African-Americans.

And skin color has nothing to do with it.

I automatically tend to dislike South Africans. Unfair and racist of me, I know, but all the ones I have ever met have been arrogant, selfish, bigoted wankers. and the accent drives me nuts.

It'll instantly change my opinion of someone if I found out they were promiscuous, especially if the person in question was a girl.

I wouldn't go as far as to shun any one or stop hanging out with them because of it, but if it was someone that I was looking at as "date-able" then I would completely abandon the idea. I'd never want to be intimate with someone like that.
