I'm just gonna come out and say that overall, this year sucked. I won't get into too much detail, as here isn't really the place for it. But I will say that I didn't get to play as many games this year as I would have hoped. So, let's just get right into it.
5. The Cluefinders: Fourth Grade Adventures
I played this game on Virtual Nostalgia on my Twitch channel. It was a short ride, but enjoyable nonetheless, being able to relearn what I essentially learned when I was a kid. And I did get around to making that old man's face in the screenshot into an emote on my Discord server.
4. 100% Orange Juice
This is a fun board/card game I first saw the Runaway Guys play on their Youtube collab channel. I bought it when it was on sale and while I was getting the screenshot for this post, I beat my main, Kai's story mode. I hope I can stream it sometime.
3. Toontown Rewritten
Years ago, I played a free trial of this little-known MMO called Disney's Toontown Online. Toontown Online shut down in 2013, but not too long after, this fan revival launched. It's free and it runs natively on Linux! I streamed this game a lot this year, and while it does give me frustrations sometimes, it is overall a fun game.
2. Rhythm Doctor
This is a fun rhythm game with ostensibly simple gameplay. Press a single button on the (usually) seventh beat to remotely line up a patient's heartbeat to the beat of the music. This game's story is fantastic and it even includes a level editor to create your own fun!
1. Axiom Verge 2
I wrote a review of this game, so if you want my full thoughts,
click here. I'll simplify here: It's an amazing followup to the first game story-wise, but gameplay-wise falls a little short. I still highly recommend this game especially if you've played the first.
