This journal is of course friends only, but I felt a real calling to make a public blog sharing my grief and my working through it so that maybe someone out there might find it useful in some way

I told you over on Facebook, but I've subscribed and linked it to my blog over on Wordpress. (sweetmeow over there, too!). I think this is one of the most healing things you can do for yourself. Writing - for me - has always helped get my emotions to make sense and to help me heal. It's also healing to share your journey with others -- and to know your journey might be healing to them.
One thing you can do is get it on Networked Blogs on facebook -- and put it in a category to help people find it. ("Your Grief Journey", for example -- you can name it as you see it).
By the way, I made a comment to your new blog (plane ride entry) -- and it's been awaiting moderation for a while. Is there a problem with it? It's under "sweetmeow" -- with link to my wordpress blog.
Your blog is great - and if it gets the publicity -- it will be of help to others struggling with grief, not to mention to you! :)
sorry Wendy! I had a few there waiting for me to approve them! still trying to get used to this new wordpress blog stuff. It seems to be more complex and more customizable then livejournal, which I like, but seems to be more of a learning curve to it haha
Hey -- that's ok -- but wondered if I *had* done something wrong. I have my wordpress blog set NOT to moderate comments because I didn't want the hassle of moderating. However, if I get flaky comments (and I haven't) - I'll put it into moderation again. I also left a comment over at your other wordpress blog (which you haven't updated in an age), and I don't know if that was ever put out of moderation. It was MONTHS ago - so don't worry about that one.
For public blogging, I like wordpress. I was going to go to Blogger, but I prefer the threaded comments, which they have at wordpress. You're right about the learning curve, though. It was a bit confusing getting all the widgets I wanted in my layout. I also like the way you can subscribe to blogs and get notification in your email of an entry -- or comments. Your stars (and moon) layout is so perfect -- just right for your grief journey.
