Scarlett O'Hara

I watched Gone with the Wind for the first time tonight.  I had tried to read the novel during the summer, but I only got about 200 pages before I threw it across the room and stalked away. It's not that the book was bad; it was well written and all of that. I could not stand Scarlett O'Hara. WHAT A HORRIBLE %^$%&^#%%$!!!

Oh don't even get me started on Scarlett O'Hara. The lengths she was willing to go to be with Wilkes were so pathetic. Especially since she had the far more sexier Rhett Butler chasing after her ungrateful butt! For me she's just one of those characters I love to hate. At the end I was torn between satisfaction that Scarlett was finally getting exactly what she deserved from Rhett and then frustration that I watched all that angsty build up only to be left with nothing!

Oh well It's still one of my favorite classics.

Yeah, I still really liked the movie. And you're right, Scarlett did get what she deserved in the end, after breaking poor Rhett's heart. So, I guess karma kinda got her after all :).
