I hope you have a brilliant time! Setting off the alarms will be interesting, probably time consuming, but you'll be ok. An extra adventure :p Sounds like you've covered all the bases with Dr. certificates etc.
Also, *HUGS* I hope you're planning on coming back to kiwiland eventually!
Well, the tattoo is not exactly on your forehead, is it? ;)
My titanium hips were no problem the first couple of times I flew after surgery, but when I went to Poland last week I set the alarms off in both Oslo and Krakow somehow. Getting a pat down search wasn't much of a hassle, and very quickly done, but then again I guess European airport security is not like the TSA, and I might have had quite a different view of the experience if I'd had to be groped by a man and not a hot military chick...
Good luck anyway, and I hope you'll have a splendidly fun and relaxing time!
Going by the lackadaisical approach I experienced on my recent visit, I'd say your biggest concern would be reaching the fingerprint sensor pad!!
On the return section I went through security several times due to disrupt, and it wasn't until back in NZ and catching the domestic connection that the dangerous weapons in my backpack were picked up in the security xray - even tho US customs had Xrayed the bag 4 times!
