Tivo for Sale

I am selling my series 1 Tivo. It includes lifetime tivo service which normally costs $299. This means you don't have to pay the $12.95 monthly fee to use the Tivo service. I have it on auction at Ebay, but I would be willing to sell to one of my local friends $300, which is just the cost of the lifetime service. This means the Tivo itself ( Read more... )

bifold reason:

primarily, I have directv now, and use the directv integrated tivos. this one isnt being used much.

secondarily, for the little I'd use it, I would rather have a series 2 unit so that I can play with some of the newer gizmo features.

There are difficulties in using a tivo in canada. It can be done, but it is not as plug and play as it is for inside the US. Guide data can be tricky to aquire.

Since you'd have to essentially replicate the tivo service, the main value of this particular unit is actually pretty much worthless to you :/. That said, you count as local for the purposes of this post. I mainly mean that I would rather sell to someone I know and skip the whole ebay process. Shipping is a small hassle compared to ebay.
