Lizzie is good -- Tanya had taken a bottle out of the freezer earlier in the day, but hadn't used it by the evening. She went out and did some shopping, and I still didn't need to use it. So after feeding Lizzie around 11pm, I told Tanya to go up and go to bed and I'd handle the next feed with the bottle so Tanya could get some solid sleep. It worked out well, and Tanya got a bit more than 6 hours uninterrupted, which is by far the most she's had since we had Lizzie.
I finally got around to get the more recent pictures off the camera, I shall have to post them soon :)
That is very neat! I've always wanted to try that- how did you do it? Mount the picture and then just paint? Do youhave to worry about the paper pealing?
I picked the guy's brain at the art store for a while, and followed his suggestion of using white cartpenter's glue to fix the photo to the board. I did that, and then used a clear Gesso on the board and also little over the photo. With that, plus all paint on top, the photo shouldn't be going anywhere. :)
Especially how she seems to be transitioning from paint form to real form. Almost like she's falling out of the picture. Excellent for your first time with oils. Plus isn't it fun to get your hands all dirty:)
Very cool, man. Since you're being vague with what emotional response you're looking for, I'll go ahead and play...
I feel awe and maybe fear at being in the presence of something larger than oneself and beyond comprehension. I feel a bit of celebration in that presence as well. The image almost makes me feel that this presence is more potent than the figure can survive; I dunno, maybe like being a ground zero in a supernatural metaphysical explosion of sentience...
Or maybe I just like sticking big words together to see how they sound...
