well. those non-hot-link allowing bastards.... :) should be fixed now.
And no. It was... a gift. Slightly tweaked frame, but doesn't affect the ride that I can tell yet and it looks pristine. And gd, it's fast. 14.5k redline, ftmfw.
And thank you for giving it a good home. In my mental model of really fast bikes, I think it would be happier to be out on the track or in the hands of someone who will ride it than just sitting idle for so many years.
Victoria has the disc lock for it, and also a Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit, if that interests you. I had my 1999 R6 stolen, so I invested pretty heavily to try and avoid repeating that experience. :-(
Please keep us posted on what you learn about the actual damage to the frame. I have heard so many competing theories about what's wrong, it will be a relief to understand what is actually wrong.
Love. Yes. Kid in candy store. As for tracks, it's my goal for it to see Little Talledega and Road Atlanta before you return. ;)
I'll get with Victoria about the locks, cheers. It will live in the garage here though, when not being ridden. Was yours stolen from your house? Or from when you were out somewhere with it?
As it turns out, the place I'm going to tomorrow to pick up the Ruckus (Atlanta Motor World) is also a Yamaha dealer, so I suppose at some point - pre first track day and if I don't find a better place in the meantime - I'll have them give it a once over with an eye towards discerning exactly what's up with the frame.
