The PDA is peeking over the side of his breast pocket, his lower torso and legs visible as he sits up. You can see the flap of his pocket occasionally getting in the way of the lens as he moves to look

The craters a new thing or something that always happens with your acrobatics? [Because, you know, that sort of thing might bring attention from over the bridge. Unwanted attention.]

[There's another long moment of silence from Alex. This guy is clearly not at home with words. There's an anxiousness about him that makes it look like he's itching for a fight and he doesn't know who or what to throw a dumpster at.

He's walking now, down an alley, and then he's up a wall, his skin and clothes rippling with black and red tendrils and he's back to being ol' corpsy.]

So the key is finding this Libitina?

[Lavi's used to listening to leaders who are pretty much the same way, waiting for them to form words around what they're feeling and want to say but still can't figure out. Though that shift - don't want to hide it, Alex? - gets him to blink and straighten with interest.]

The only time she appears is to give rooms or sometime during the month to toy with us for a week. If you can find her it's doubtful you'll come out of it alive, she ate one of the former residents here.

[He's not really thinking about his actions. His body is on autopilot as he heads back to Nesreca, his mind working on what to do to get home.

[He doesn't seem perturbed by the fact a little girl ate someone. If anything, this seems perfectly rational to him. The virus is more interested in the method she employed, because there's a hint of recognition in his tone.]

[Alex looks down over his body and frowns. Well, his mouth turns more downwards than normal and his brow furrows. He hadn't noticed the switch back. His body just felt more... comfortable in the form of the first person he 'consumed'.]

From what I've heard, things aren't good on this side. Why do the people over here hate you?

We don't know why really, they think we're responsible for what happened to the city over here or we're infected with whatever killed them. That's our best guess.

[There's a laugh but no humour in it. Just cold, and bitter, like anything resembling laughter is a new thing for the strange man.]

We don't know, the newspapers here don't have any data and the history records in Credinta cover it up as if it didn't happen.

Almost. [But the nuke that would have turned Manhattan into a ghost city never met its mark. Alex is feeling a little bit smug about that.]

Typical. Some government pet project probably went out of control and got swept under a bunch of lies, nice and neat.

We don't even know if it's that, documents are hard to get when they seem to know what we all look like.

Mostly in their public libraries. I haven't figured out a way to sneak into the government buildings without being caught and I've got no wishes to be in jail.
