You are blowing it way out of proportion and are being a tad melodramatic about it. You are only narrowing down to one major IN the classroom. Outside of the classroom you can learn about whatever the hell you want on your own time, including the other interests that you won't have majored in. I probably am well on my way to that degree in Being Social, well on my way to that degree in Apple Fanaticism. I know I have the minor in insane girlfriends. But, assuming I have time and energy for it, I can do whatever I wanted to do with film production on my own anyway. Your major will eat up 15 classes. You have the rest to learn about whatever the hell you want.
You're stupid. Of course I'm going to learn other things, like social life and my own share of crazy significant others. That is not the point. The point is I want to learn a variety of things and TAKE a variety of CLASSES. I want to be able to take an art class, a music history class, a film class, and a theatre class in the same schedule. I can't believe that of all the things in this world that are truly interesting and that I'm truly passionate about, I'm forced to pick ONE, therefore implying that the others don't matter as much. That to me is insane and I will not stand for it. Sure, perhaps eventually I will find one interest that surpasses the rest, but for now, I still believe that being a multifaceted person is a good and very NORMAL thing to be, and hopefully I will find a place that thinks so too. So there.
And you should really be talking as far as melodrama is concerned...
Hey, Zoe. I think I've more than earned my melodrama rights. Try dealing with a heavy romantic break-up ON TOP of all this crap with Scott. It's loads of fun! :-P
You will be able to take those types of classes, and yes, sometimes in the same exact semester/quarter, but you will not be able to major in all of those subjects. You are making that a far bigger deal than it actually is. Eventually you'll have to pick one. Doing so won't invalidate the others nor your passion for them, it'll just mean that for the latter year and a half to two years, you'll mainly be taking those classes. No big deal. Get over it and find a school already. Once you apply to the schools you don't have to think about any of this until the acceptance/rejection letters arrive.

Max, Zoe...no fighting on livejournal.
Look Zoe, stop making college out to be your enemy. College is SCHOOL. School 2.0, and it's a lot of fun. You get to TAKE classes that you are interested in! It isn't just about 4.0 students. Colleges want all kinds of kids, and some even prefer you not to have an intended major. Why don't you keep LOOKING for a college that best suits you.
The amazing thing about life, is when it comes to school and career paths, you generally have control of what you do.
your bro is right, you are being a little melodramatic. However, there is a degree of justification. You are dealing with anxieties about high school, leaving home and losing your uncle all at once while dealing with finding a college. But get it together gurl! Look how much is just over the horizon waiting for you.
Stop freaking out about life and just LIVE it. I am pretty sure that is what your uncle would want you to be doing.
