OK, keepers of useless knowledge . . .

. . . I'm opening the question up to the forum because I can't find any answer . . . even a bullshit one.

WHY a dozen roses?

Why not, like, 8 . . . or . . . 5 . . . or, even twenty?!?!

When and why did 12 become the magic number for the rose bouquet?

Anybody?

Please?

It's driving me a little nuts.

It's metric? No, wait, metric would be 10. I don't know. because 12 seems like a random number whereas 10 seems to precise. And I think 3 is a great boquet number, having recieved a few threes in the past.
