Dinner: A liberating action

So most would say that dinner is just dinner. You sit, eat, and talk with those around you. If out at a restaurant or home around the table. But when you eat dinner by yourself and you don't have anyone to talk to you think. Well I went to Charlie Brown's last night for a nice bowl of French Onion soup. Not a big deal really. A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle. ~

Gloria Steinem had this to say in a letter she wrote to Time magazine in autumn 2000:

"In your note on my new and happy marital partnership with David Bale, you credit me with the witticism 'A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle.' In fact, Irina Dunn, a distinguished Australian educator, journalist and politician, coined the phrase back in 1970 when she was a student at the University of Sydney."

My 2 cents.

I know how you feel. I frequently head to random places with a book, instead of a person. Most of the time, it's a notepad, thinking of whatever I'm thinking about at the time (99% D&D related,) and scribing it down instead of pushing on.

Dammit, now you make me want to read some good ol' Edgar Allen.

Take my advice: enjoy the fact that you're more mature than most college brats in your age group. Keep that way, you'll be far ahead of them in the end.

there is nothing wrong with eating alone. I do this often cause it allows me to get writing done and reading.
