I agree with the above, "I am sorry" goes a very long way, particularly if the person receiving the apology did not have to say "You owe me an apology". If you, on your own, come to her and apologize it is very likely to mean alot to her.
You tell her exaclty what you told us - that you were a piece of shit and she didn't deserve that treatment, that you feel horrible and won't feel better until you tell her you're sorry.
I don't know what you did, but if you're feeling as bad as you appear to be, then saying "I'm sorry" sometimes won't cut it. "Sorry" doesn't mean much when its that easy... especially if you really hurt her.
Give her the whole spiel and hopefully she'll forgive you. :-)
I wholly agree with what was said above. I've had the "I'm sorry" comment before, and it never exactly gave me any incentive to forgive them that easy. People react and are affected in so many different ways when it comes to similar situations, and it sometimes takes more effort to receive forgiveness(if any at all) from them. Take the above advice....be completely honest, and sincere, tell her exactly what it is you are feeling, and how its affecting you as well. Unless someone wants to disagree....Most women love nothing better than honesty, something that comes straight from heart. Sappy, yes...but its true.
