A state-owned Syrian TV channel has alleged that Barcelona assist in - and you'll like this - the smuggling of weapons to rebels. A detailed video was used to show that Barcelona's formation and pattern of play were specifically designed to demonstrate possible arms-smuggling routes.

BUT IT'S TRUE ):<

technically it's a jab at al jazeera sports -- their commentators have been sending messages to the syrian people, especially before big games, comforting them and asking them to be patient, fight on, etc. but yes, the report was being quite serious with its claims. according to them, Barcelona's players might as well be terrorists.

i'd like to think they were trying to be smart with their metaphors (weapon smugglers are as swift and good as barcelona's passes as they cut through real madrid), except they really weren't. still awfully hilarious.
