Ok, so I feel the need to post this in large part to guage other peoples opinions but there you go. Dark Knight spoilers....or at least I think there may be.

I saw The Dark Knight on Sunday. As did Alex. We went together. It's a thing people do. Anywho. I was tragically dissapointed. We both were in fact. I was expecting extreme violence and I get that it was a 12a film, but I think they forgot to put it in. Don't get me wrong it was violent, but in a cold somewhat clinical way. Do we think it is better to show kids lots of violence with almost no negative side-effects rather than to show them that shit hurts? I'm not sure. One thing they did remember was plot - but alas they appear to have remembered about seven and tried to shove them all into one film. The sacrifice they made for this was character development. The Joker mysteriously has no real history or motivation for most of the film although he is happily deserving of some dried frog pills. Harvey Dent just...upset me. There was no reason for him to be there, he acted out of character and once again we were given no real motivation. And then they killed him off! Ho hum. Umm.....the action scenes were well done. Very asplodey. The bat bike would fail in England - no way those tyres would stand up to a roundabout. LOL. Oh and Batman had a silly voice, it always sounded more realistically gravelly in my head. Anyway I wanted to know: does everyone else think it lives up to the hype?
