--

Wake up the rising, crawling dead
Collect upon ashes and ashes and ashes
Of their bones and veins, skins and lips
Gather them on the ground and watch their rebirth

Assemble around the coffins all colored brown
Wear your black, your white, the greenyelloworange
Toss away your pride and crumple your remorse
The day is much too old but the night is gray

Celebrate and laugh around the pains of sleep
The kids are playing and men, women are laughing
Feel no concern for the sisters and sons crying
Hush, the elders scold, respect who cannot breathe

Spend your days among the corpses
Waste all of your time in their presence
Honor them with disregard and love them wholly
Give them everything you have and nothing you do

The daughter is finally breaking down
Gather around her but don’t dare touch
It is a disease, get away from her
Insanity is fake and sanity does not exist

Burn these souls with your big round tears
Break down in front of them and lose yourself
Get your whole life back and forget them
Grieve to live and grieve for guilt

(It is done, the priest finally utters,
Go out and honor their life.)
~*~
Inspired by my experience after my aunt's death last Sunday. I was never close to her so I didn't really...feel...it, but she was the one that took care of my mother when she was young. And I've always been prone to crying. So I swear I wasn't as insensitive as this poem!

...much.

Still, though. This is how I deal with things.

That, or I read cupious amounts of slash. Well.
