RP | First Date Ever

It had taken him hours to finally decide he was ready. It was the first, and only, time he'd stared at the mirror like that. He'd showered, shaved, combed his hair into a shape he'd hoped was flattering, and he'd gotten dressed in what he thought was his most attractive casual wear. His one pair of jeans, black and skinny, a purple button-down ( Read more... )

He'd taken a little bit of time to get ready for his first date with Spencer with all things considering. God. First there was the drive back from Maine to Virginia, then he'd spent time with him in the moments of cuddling and kissing. And finally, he'd asked Reid out on a date. He didn't know he'd ask after a month. For some reason, Hotch thought it would take a little bit longer than a month. But in the end, it was okay. He was going on a date with the profiler, and he was thrilled. Even Jack was excited about the idea of his daddy going to dinner with who he thought was an awesome guy ( ... )

Reid's building was an old Victorian house, three floors, that had been broken into six apartments. It looked its age, and there was no wonder it was going to be demolished soon, even though all of the units were occupied. The neighborhood wasn't the greatest. In fact, it was one of the many that was starting to undergo the 'gentrification', buildings being torn down and replaced with McMansions and townhouses. Reid was being priced out of his building, that simple, but he didn't seem to mind too terribly.

Upon hearing his name, he turned-- and he smiled, catching the tennis ball as it fell. "Hey - did you find it all right? I know it's... kind of off the beaten path."

"I found it without using any sort of help of a map, if that's what you mean," Hotch replied. He was still in that mode of touching his face and feeling his skin, slipping a hand into Reid's and taking a glance around to make sure no one was really around. The place was deserted now; at least from Hotch's understanding. Thank god he was moving closer to Quantico, which meant closer to him.

He merely had a glance at what he was wearing, but it didn't matter. Reid was still his dorkish self, and even in his fashion sense, he still loved him. It- it worked. It suited him so nicely, just like Hotch's business attire suited him in every sense of casual. He leaned over and softly pecked Spencer's cheek with a smile. "Shall we?"

"Sure," Spencer answered, smiling. He tossed the tennis ball he'd been playing with back toward the porch and into a basket - a whole basket of the damned things, just sitting there on a table. But then he was free to go. "I think I found a place in Dumfries. I'm going to see it tomorrow - it's, um. A little more upscale than this..."

He laughed sheepishly as he dusted his hand off on his jeans. "I mean, not that that would be hard..."
