He'd had to ask about it, but he'd finally found enough white sage to do what needed to be done. He thought, anyway. For this, he'd wanted reinforcements, but he wasn't sure about inviting more people tan himself into Aaron's apartment ( Read more... )

It had been a long night of grilled cheese and a movie and a little homework, but after some whining and a promise of take-out the next night, Aaron had finally laid Jack to sleep and quietly closed the door. He didn't need his son to listen to what could possibly go wrong- or right. All he needed was a lot of sleep, and it was apparent.

The knock at his door had been soft, but it made him jump a little as he walked over to unlock it and all the deadbolts. Foyet was continuously hissing in his ear, but he kept a straight face as he opened the door and let Spencer in. His hand was over his ear again, but it wouldn't be for long. "...he just fell asleep. Your timing is getting a lot better."

"I had to go buy some things first." But he stepped in and lifted a hand to Aaron's ear. He felt so terrible for Aaron and it tugged at his heart to see him hurting this way. "Are you okay? I mean, I can tell you're hurting..."

"If I could tell him to shut up right now, I would," Aaron replied dryly, his face completely serious as he glared off in the direction of the television. He was still the only one who could see him, but it didn't matter. At least Spencer was around to ease the pain a little bit. He had the whole "pure aura" thing going on that Foyet constantly complained about. The hand tightened over his ear a little more, and Aaron's eyes squeezed shut for a moment in agony. "Hurts a lot again. At least Jack didn't figure it out."

Spencer nodded and, exhaling, he reached for Aaron's hands. "Come on. We're going to the kitchen and I'm going to start a cleansing. I already bought the white sage and made smudge sticks out of it. I brought a candle and some matches and... I'm really hoping that your fire alarm doesn't go off, but it shouldn't. I'll open a window a crack."

Just to be sure.

"The only thing to keep in mind is to breathe normally and try to imagine white light. Even breathe the smoke."
