The delegation had arrived with appropriate fanfare, banners flying, sparkling with silver and gold. The horses had marched in a piaffe gait, their manes and tails braided up with violet ribbons against their silver coats. Barding had fluttered in the breeze, and amongst it all, on a strong bay that had stood out among the silvers and white, had ( Read more... )

From inside the castle walls, there were already a number of nobles that had made themselves known. Many were already speaking amongst one another in another area of the grounds, but one other man was wandering the gardens of the castle. The Prince of Nohl was not known for many words. In fact, he was known to all for being the quietest person of the royal line to this very day. But when he did indeed speak, it was of valuable words of wisdom. There inside the library, he wasn't difficult to find. He was perfectly lit with sunlight that streamed through the windows. Long fingers traced each line of the text, hand-written as it was, translating the text in his mind. Foreign languages didn't trouble him at all as long as it was reading instead of speaking.

He was so absorbed in the text that he didn't notice anyone approaching. Besides, that was his bodyguard's purpose.

His one free hand toyed with the end of his braid absently. He'd have to attend to diplomacy eventually, but right now, he took the chance he had.

Indeed, the bodyguard questioned the prince at the entryway to the library. The prince gave him a quiet look, a raised eyebrow as if to inquire why he could not go inside. When told of the visitor, he merely gazed at the closed door with but a look and nodded. The prince held up a hand to the bodyguard and curled it into a fist. He knocked three times at the door, waiting for a few moments before opening it.

He cast a look back to the bodyguard, a look of warning for them to not be disturbed. All the while, he said not a word.

It had been a long time since Prince Aaron had been inside the library. Alone or with a companion.

The knocking almost startled him, and he looked up to the door as it opened. The sight of Prince Aaron had a smile already starting to spread across his face. It had been a very, very long time, but now...

Oh, he hadn't even thought of this, but now that it was in front of him and he was stunned that he hadn't realised that he would be here.

Sometimes even his mind missed a few things. This was just one of them.

"Heavens above, it's you."
