Long time, no talk. I'm not really on here that often but I do read my friends' posts occasionally.
I wanted to say that I liked your reflection and that I feel like reading this gave me the first-hand response I was seeking to confirm what I mostly suspected - basically everything you observed about Obama. I try to stay out of all the futile politics which often means I miss what little relevant info there is, so I appreciate an untainted (by which I mean to say personal, considered, and sincere) evaluation of things.
By the way, I live in Maine now (not Minnesota where I was for the last 5 1/2 years). If you live anywhere close we should maybe catch up sometime.
I'm glad my rambling was useful to you :-) It was an unusual experience for me, because normally I don't check in until after the primaries, and even then... I usually wait for the debates. But I know some folks working on his campaign who seem willing to take a bullet for him, and their zeal got me wondering. I can't say I'll be signing up with them, but I continue to find Obama significantly less under-whelming than Clinton. The jury is also still out on McCain: I think I legitimately respect him, but every so often he scares the bejezus out of me.
Welcome back to New England! I hear Maine was absolutely buried in snow yesterday...
I'm living in Boston (and relying on public transportation), and will likely be here for another couple years. It -would- be great to catch up if geography allows at some point.
