Well I tried my best to write this tutorial since I had issues with the my internet i've been messing around in photoshop alot more. Hope it makes sense. I've never been good at teaching ^_^.

OK question. It sorta works, but I don't get why you make a white layer with 7% opacity in PS and then lower it to 5% and up to 10% in IR? if you make both layers (10% and 5%) in PS, the effect is still the same. So, huh?

You don't have to do it.

It just is a little effect that old movies tend to look like. Basically you should have 7% (one frame) -> 10% (the next frame) -> 5% (the final frame) it will depend on the image you use. You may have to increase these numbers to get it to actually make a difference. If you adjust it in PS it won't work when you animate so you need to do do the changes in IR.

Like i said it can be confusing and there is a possibility that older versions before CS may not do this correctly. It's not needed but it does add to the effect.
