The chickens are really his project, although I will happily take the eggs. Our egg supplier lady is moving out of state(long story, her husband retired and decided to use the extra free time to find a new girlfriend), and had to give away most of her animals. These are just a few of her flock.

Kid came home for a day and a half after being away for a week, then headed down to Oregon for another fire job. He is not sure how long he will be away this time. It is a 2 day drive down with the big trucks so I expect he will be gone for at least a week, probably longer. It feels weird to be busy with work when the end date is looming on the horizon. Kind of like going full speed on a boat that is headed over a waterfall. I have been poking at the usual connections the past month, and all of them seem to be in the same boat...either laid off or about to be. I am working today because I took Friday off. Our intrepid characters are once again being menaced by giant food items. They do all this consumer research with preschoolers to see what attracts their attention, and food is pretty high on the list. So every few weeks the characters run into giant fruit, cheese wedges, tacos, what have you.

Sheesh, it has been a while since I posted. Spring is finally here. Work continues to be stressful, with big changes at the parent corporation and continuing talk of mergers. But so far our production is hanging on.

Suzy Cat has a bad habit of bringing in live "toys" from the catio. The usual procedure is to get gloves and a kitchen towel, grab the small mouse or bird, and free them outside.

I was headed to bed last night, and found 3 of the cats huddled in the hallway. They had cornered a mouse. I left to get gloves and kitchen towel. The kitchen is all of 8 ( Read more... )

So work is doing another party in NY, this time in early March. I am not really sure if I want to go...there are no direct flights from Spokane, so it will be a super long day of air travel there and back, even with no delays.
