Yesterday was a very long day, but Husband's surgery is done and he is recovering well!

We left the house at 8 AM and did not get back home until almost 9 PM. The actual procedure only took half an hour, with another half an hour in the recovery room. But the hospital is 2 hours away from our place(that is what we get for living out in the boonies ( Read more... )

Husband's surgery is tomorrow. I feel like I have done all the stressing last month, when the surgery got canceled at the last minute. Hopefully it will go smooth this time.

It rained yesterday. Halfway through the sun came out and a double rainbow appeared.

The guys are spending all day tinkering in the workshop, so I did this. The current cats at my place. Suzy doodles look different all the time because she is a splotchy calico with no definite pattern except for that orange triangle on her forehead.

My projects for the week got wrapped up early. Next handout meeting is Tuesday, after the Monday Labor Day holiday.
I just paid 4k to wipe out the last of credit card debt from previous year's various emergencies. Majority of this Friday's paycheck is going to the monthly mortgage payment.

My trusty color printer died after 6 years of abuse and got replaced with a sleeker new model today. It seems like electronic equipment have a built in drop dead date. Winds on Friday kept the sky miraculously clear for the afternoon. We actually got to walk around at the fair and enjoy the rodeo without suffocating. Unfortunately the smoke came back on Saturday, and it is still quite thick outside. There is a new fire near the biggest town in our county. Today was the monthly expedition to Walmart for supplies. Walmart is 40 minutes drive away. It is the closest place to stock up on large packages of paper towels, Korean ramen, and cat food cans, among other things. We filled the back of the Jeep to the brim and drove home via winding mountain roads.

Husband was scheduled for outpatient surgery today on his left hand. I took the day off work. After 2 hours drive one way to the city and 4 hours of waiting around, surgery was canceled.
