My dad died tonight.

I was holding his hand when he stopped breathing.

on a side note: I was asked to help pay for the funeral three times this evening by my step mom and her daughter. two of those times were while he was still alive.

Oh, Jesus. Andrea, I'm so sorry. I know words aren't much comfort in a time like this, but Cathy and I are thinking of you. Take care of yourself.

I'm sorry hun. I wish i could think of something better to say, but i'm at a lack of words.

I love ya, and miss you and know this is one of the hardest things to go through in life. Just remember you always have friends here for support whenever you need them.

I'm so sorry, Andrea!

I, too, was holding my father's hand when he died. It's good and very important to be there, when something like that happens. For him so that he was not alone and for you, because this moment of nearness and deep connection to your father nobody can ever take from you.
When my brother died last year I wasn't there and that is so terrible and keeps me from really comprehend what happenend.

And it surely is good that your father did not have to suffer for too long.

My sincere condolences.
He is still there for you. And he always will.

*hugs*

Okay Matt got in before me but I thought I'd just second his comment. My stomach kinda turned over when I read this. I feel horrible for you. Hang in there and maybe find some comfort in your kiddies?

I'm so sorry.
