I'm looking for an apartment right now and there are entire streets that I won't even call. I've been looking at the Bed Bug Registry before seeing any places and generally being VERY nervous.

There was a problem at my apartments. They caught the problem very early. I didn't have any myself. When they came to inspect my apartment, I was told my style of furniture didn't give them good hiding places. Therefore, they didn't like my place. I don't have a traditional bed. I have a sofabed where the couch just flattens into the bed at night.

You mean the talc/DE method? Yeah, I've had that going on for a few months now. Never did find any bugs in it. :P (Of course, I've never had many to begin with...) I've found that what's worked the best by faaaaar is steam cleaning. Damn expensive to buy a decent machine (~$400), but holy crap worth every penny.
