Plot: Yukino was having a normal high school life. She was good friends with Nakajima Yuto and Keito Okamoto. On the day they had met Keito had found a star necklace in an attic and Yuto gave it to Yukino who liked it. However that was the beginning of a new change in her life. Her life started to get even weird after she went face to face with the strange mirror in her school outbuilding. Now her life can never be the same again.
~Chapter 2 {horrifying start in summer} ~
Yukino opened her eyes slowly. Remembering the incident from last night she jerked up.
“Are you feeling better?” Yuto’s voice came to her.
“Where am i?” Yukino asked confused.
“At home. You had passed out in the out building.” Keito replied.
“oh…” Yukino replied.
“So that was all a dream.” Yukino thought with a smile.
“Had it not been for him we would have never found you.” Keito replied.
“Him?” Yukino jerked up.
“Well, He had been holding you when you fainted.” Keito replied.
Yukino felt her heart beat speed. All she could remember was the kiss she and the boy had shared. The door creaked open.
“Yuki, are you okay?” Takaki Yuya, Yukino’s cousin asked her.
“Hai Nii-chan.” Yukino replied.
“It’s good to hear that you are fine.” A familiar voice replied.
Yukino looked up to see the boy from the mirror smile at her.
“It’s you!!!” Yukino said screaming.
“Yuki-Chan, are you feeling better, you fainted when you saw me.” The boy smiled warmly.
“Ryosuke-kun, thank you for taking care of my dense cousin.” Takaki said with a smile.
“You came out of that mirror!!!!” Yukino gasped.
“Mirror? Yuki are you really okay?” Takaki asked as he placed a hand on Yukino’s forehead.
“I am not crazy!!!!” Yukino yelled back.
“I think you are sick. You do have a fever.” Takaki replied.
“Why does not anyone believe me?” Yukino muttered when she saw Ryosuke smiling at her.
A blush began to form.
“Okay, we need to go, she is really sick. Her face has turned bright red!” Yuto replied and exited the room.
“Ryosuke-kun, why don’t you keep her company while I get a room ready for you?” Takaki asked Ryosuke.
“Thank you, you are very kind.” Ryosuke replied; his smile grew wider.
“Bye Yuki-Chan!” Keito replied and left the room.
Yukino looked at Ryosuke who walked towards her. She cringed. Her face was getting hotter.
“You know, no one will believe you if you say things about me coming out of the mirror…” Ryosuke said and sat down next to her.
“Who are you really? Why did you kiss me?” Yukino asked.
“I live within that mirror. I kissed you because you are the new guardian of the mirror.” Ryosuke said with a smile.
“The what?” Yukino looked at him skeptically.
“Here, hold my hand.”
Ryosuke extended his hand.
“Why?”
“Do it, it will be fine.”
“okay….”
Yukino placed her hand on his.
“Close your eyes.”
Yukino closed her eyes. She felt herself become light. She opened her eyes and gave a cry of surprise.
“I…I...am…I am flying!!” Yukino cried happily.
“Since you are the new guardian of the mirror, you can do all with a spirit of the mirror.” Ryosuke replied with a smile.
“This is awesome! “ Yukino laughed.
Ryosuke watched the girl’s excitement. He felt happy on witnessing her happiness. He suddenly felt a strange in his heart. He winced and decided to return. Yukino found herself in her room.
“Why did we come back?” Yukino pouted.
“I feel a bit tired. Besides you are sick yourself. You need the rest.” Ryosuke smiled warmly.
“Thank you.” Yukino smiled and lay on her bed and fell asleep.
Ryosuke watched her toss in her sleep. He frowned. Tears appeared in his eyes.
“I am sorry Yukino.” Ryosuke muttered and kissed her cheek.
Yukino smiled in her sleep and turned to face Ryosuke. Ryosuke felt his heart race, and then he felt his heart was aching. No, he could let feelings come in between what he wanted.
~Next morning~
Yukino got up early. She remembered the previous night’s incidents. She got out of bed. She felt a bit strange. She looked in the mirror. The star necklace was not on her neck anymore.
“Guardian of the mirror huh?” Yukino smiled.
“You are already high for being the guardian?” Ryosuke’s voice reached her ears.
“un~” Yukino smiled.
They stared into each other’s eyes. Yukino suddenly felt herself levitate. A white light shone around her. Ryosuke watched in shock. He had hoped that her powers as a guardian would not awaken.
“This is not happening….” Ryosuke muttered.
“What’s happening to me? Why do I feel bright?” Yukino shut her eyes tightly.
After a few minutes she opened her eyes to find herself in a white dress. The dress was long. She seemed and felt different
“What? What’s happening?” Yukino muttered and fainted.
Ryosuke caught Yukino’s fainted body. She changed to her original self. Ryosuke smirked. Even if they awaken, Yukino will not be able to use them, not if he let her.
~A few hours later~
Yukino woke up to find Yuto and Keito staring at her. Yukino blushed.
“Are you okay? You have been sleeping all morning.” Keito asked worried.
“I have been having strange dreams…” Yukino replied.
“Do you want to go out somewhere?” Yuto asked.
Yukino nodded. Anything to forget it. What they did not know was that two people were watching them. Yamada Ryosuke and a lady on top of Yukino’s house.
~In front of a store in Shibuya~
“Ne, Yuki-Chan, you have not been listening.” Keito poked Yukino’s cheek.
“Eh? What were we talking about?” Yukino tilted her head.
Yuto and Keito looked at each other.
“Yukino are you okay?” Yuto asked.
“Yeah, I am fine.” Yukino replied smiling.
Yukino was not sure how to answer Yuto and Keito. She felt like something was in danger.
“Mirror….” Yukino muttered.
“eh?” Both Keito and Yuto looked at her.
Yukino suddenly ran away from them.
“Did she say mirror?” Keito inquired.
“Did you notice she is still not wearing that necklace?” Yuto asked.
“Has she awakened the mirror like I did three years ago?” Keito asked shocked.
“Then she must have also encountered a spirit from the mirror!” Yuto replied.
“But the spirit I encountered was the guardian of the mirror….” Keito replied.
“When she said that Ryosuke is from the mirror, wait a sec! isn’t he the one?” Yuto asked Keito with wide eyes.
“I don’t know. He looks like the guardian, but we cannot remember that anymore…..” Keito muttered.
“Yukino….” Yuto muttered.
~Near the school~
“The mirror is under attack, I have to save it.” Yukino whispered worried.
She ran into the outbuilding to find the mirror intact. She sighed in relief. She felt as though the mirror was going to be damaged. She walked to the mirror. Her hair was open and swaying. She smiled looking at her reflection. When she noticed something strange form behind her. She looked behind in shock in to see a strange huge crow like creature that had razor sharp teeth. The crow attacked her. She screamed and closed her eyes tight anticipating the attack. She did not know what was going on, when she felt hands around her. They were protective and strong. Yukino opened her eyes to see Ryosuke protecting her from the creature. Her eyes went wide. Ryosuke kept avoiding the creature’s attack.
“The mirror!” Yukino screamed as she tried to fight away from Ryosuke’s arms.
“The creature can never destroy the mirror. It is you they want.” Ryosuke replied.
The creature lunged at them. Ryosuke raised his hand. A strange wind blew in taking the creature in a typhoon. The surroundings calmed down and the creature disappeared. Yukino fell to her knees in shock.
“Yuki-Chan are you okay?” Ryosuke asked as he held her from falling.
“What is going on? Why do I feel like protecting the mirror?” Yukino asked in a soft whisper.
“You are the guardian also.” Ryosuke replied softly.
“Also? Is someone else the guardian as well?” Yukino asked back.
“Yes, but we have never seen him for a long time.” Ryosuke replied.
“Ryosuke-kun…” Yukino muttered.
“Hai?” Ryosuke looked at the girl.
“Please take me home, I feel very…..” Yukino fainted.
Ryosuke sighed. She would have fatigue most of the time because of her transition to become the next guardian.
“You are playing well Ryosuke. Very soon she will be able to trust only you, and then you will bring her here so I can feed on her life form.” A woman smiled.
“Haru-San, how can you be sure she is the guardian? She may have powers but she could be the priestess or something!” Ryosuke replied, hugging Yukino.
“I don’t know. But if you can succeed in what I have ordered you do, I will return your memories which you lost in that battle.” Haru smiled evilly.
Ryosuke sighed. He did not want to do this. Haru disappeared. He carried Yukino in bridal style. He walked to her home with her in his arms. Suddenly Yukino’s hand touched his hand.
“Thank you, Ryosuke-kun.” Yuki muttered softly.
Ryosuke stopped walking. He felt his heart race. He suddenly winced, his heart was in pain again. He quickly hurried home with Yukino. One thing was for sure, he was developing feelings for Yukino, no matter how he wanted to deny it.
~In Keito’s house~
“Keito, did you find it?” Yuto asked.
“No, let’s keep looking.” Keito replied.
Keito was pulling out another book, when a paper fell out. Yuto and Keito stared at the paper in shock. On the paper was the picture of the mirror in the school outbuilding and in the mirror was Ryosuke!
