Chapter 3 ~ Murders At Kiroshima House~ {Slightly inspired by Umineko no naku koro ni and Tantei Gakuen Q} (P.S use of {} will indicate something else going on during this scene)
“Ne Yuki, will you be fine working?” Reiko looked at the girl.
“It was just shock I should be fine.” Yuki replied.
“But---” Anika was about to continue when Yuki replied.
“I will find him if I continue.” Yuki replied, her cheeks slightly pink.
“Who?” Ami looked at her.
“Someone!” Yuki replied and ran back to the medical room.
Ryosuke sighed as he overheard the conversation. When he met her back then, he never knew she would be such a headache! Okay she is still a high schooler but that does not mean she annoys the hell out of them!
“Are you spying on Yuki?” Yabu and Yuto smiled at him.
“No!” Ryosuke answered quickly.
“Isn’t she a bit too young for your preference?” Yuto looked at him evilly.
“Yuto, I am not interested in Yuki!” Ryosuke begin to feel flustered.
“Why are your cheeks pink?” Yuto and Yabu pressed closer.
!BAMM! !SMACK! !SLAP!
“Shut up both of you.” Ryosuke felt a vein pop in his forehead.
“That was mean!” Both Yabu and Yuto whined.
“Yabu-kun!” Mirai called out.
“Huh?” Yabu looked up.
“We have a case…..” She replied.
~In the office~
“So basically they want someone to protect them?” Ami looked at Ohno incredulously.
“Well, yeah….” Ohno giggled.
“Are you serious?” Niya looked at Ohno with a sweat drop.
Ohno gave an innocent smile. He then looked at Yuto and Yabu.
“What happened to you? You both have a black eye and swollen cheeks.” Ohno raised a brow.
“Can we have details of the case?” Yabu said trying to change the topic.
“Were you picking at Mirai’s skirt or something?” Ohno asked interested.
“Ohno-sempai, case detail!!!” Chinen said smiling.
“Oh yeah.” Ohno replied.
~In the medical room~
“Why am I being dragged as well?” Yuki looked downcast.
“Because Ryosuke thinks it’s not right to leave a 17 year old alone in Tokyo. You uncle’s out as well.” Anika replied.
“Ne Anika-Chan….” Yuki looked up.
“Hmm?” Anika looked at Yuki.
“You like Keito-kun ne?” Yuki looked at the older girl.
“Eh? What makes you think so?” The girl blushed.
“The way you look at him.” Yuki replied bluntly.
“He is nice and really sweet, but...umm…” Anika felt flustered.
“Who is nice and sweet?” Keito poked his nose in the room.
“The two of you together!” Yuki replied and ran out.
Keito and Anika blushed. They looked at each other and felt even shyer.
“You guys are worse at confessing than a high schooler.” Yuki muttered.
~Outside the mansion~
Yuki, Ryosuke, Niya, Takaki, Keito, Anika, Mirai, Yabu, Chinen and Ami stood at the door.
“I still don’t get why I am being dragged!” Yuki pouted.
“For once can you stop being childish!” Ryosuke muttered under his breath.
Yuki overheard what Ryosuke said and looked away. The door opened and the ten of them stepped in.
“So you are the people sent in. I hope we will have fun with you!” A big bearded man laughed.
Yuki suddenly held Ryosuke’s hand. Ryosuke felt her fear; he silently placed his hand over hers. There was something sinister about the man.
“Oh, we have a school student with us. Will you be very useful?” The man smiled kindly at Yuki, who only hid further behind Ryosuke.
“So you are Kiroshima Kinzo, the head of the family.” Ryosuke spoke.
“That is me. I ---” Kinzo was about to continue when they were interrupted by the maid.
“The dinner is served.” She bowed.
“Why don’t you join us for dinner?” Kinzo bowed.
Ryosuke nodded.
~7:00pm: In the dining room~
There was unearthly silence in the dining room. The only sound you could hear was that of the culinary being used.
“Now let’s see if I got the people right.” Yuki looked around.
Ryosuke and the others were busy eating. Yuki continued to look around.
“The woman with the blondish black hair next to me is Kinzo’s second daughter Miko. The man next to her is her husband Hideyoshi. The man sitting next to Kinzo is his eldest son Kuromiya. The woman next to him is his wife Natsuhi. The man in front of me is the younger brother Hiroyuki. He is unmarried. The woman next to him is Yumi, his twin sister. So that’s everyone. Their kids are at their homes.” Yuki continued to look around.
“Are you planning to waste that?” Ryosuke whispered to her.
“Eh? I am not hungry.” Yuki replied.
“Then please put you culinary in that position.” Ryosuke replied and continued to eat.
“Jerk!” Yuki thought annoyed.
“I need to leave.” Kuromiya got up and left.
“You know it’s rude to leave!” Kinzo replied angrily.
“Please excuse my rudeness.” Kuromiya replied and walked out of the room.
“Dinner is done; please retire to your rooms.” Kinzo replied angrily and left the room.
~8:15pm: In Yuki’s room~
Yuki silently put her things away. She sighed. She was confused about her feelings. She was confused between the mean Ryosuke and the kind hearted Ryosuke. She was confused between the boy who saved her and Ryosuke.
“Yuk-Sama, do you need anything?” A maid appeared.
“No, I am fine. What’s your name?” Yuki looked at the maid.
“Sayo.” The maid replied shyly.
“That’s a nice name!” Yuki replied smiling.
Sayo smiled as well. They both suddenly became alert when they heard a scream.
Yuki and Sayo hurried to the room from where the scream was heard. Miko was sobbing near the body of Kinzo. Ryosuke noticed Yuki. But before he could stop her, Yuki saw the body. Her eyes went wide, on the floor was a terribly slashed body of Kinzo. Yuki shut her eyes in shock.
~In the living room~
“The murder took place at about 8:00pm so about half an hour after dinner.” Yabu read out of his notes.
“Sayo! Were you not at Father’s room?” Miko snapped at the maid.
“Yes, but I left at about 7:45pm.” Sayo replied terrified.
“You killed him did you not? You murdered him to get your revenge on him for making you work right?” Miko yelled at the girl.
“Before you accuse her, why don’t you tell us what were you doing Miko-san?” Niya asked
“Eh?” Miko looked at Niya.
“That’s true; you should all tell us what were you doing?” Mirai replied.
“I was in the library; you can ask the librarian about it.”Miko replied non-chantingly.
“I was talking to Natsuhi-San about the behavior her husband showed at the dinner table.” Hideyoshi replied.
“I was talking to Yumi and Hiroyuki. Sayo checked on us several times.” Kuromiya replied.
“At what all times approximate did she check on you?” Yuki interrupted.
“At about 7:50pm and at about 8:05 pm.” He replied looking confused at the girl.
“The distance from your room to Kinzo’s will take about 10 minute’s ne?” Yuki hopefully.
“Yes.”
“So that means Sayo could not have committed the murder! There is not enough time for her to escape!” Yuki replied.
“So who murdered her?” Miko looked at the girl.
“That is our job to find out. Right now everyone is a suspect.” Ryosuke replied.
“You are not to leave the house. You will only leave when we feel you are innocent.” Takaki replied.
The family members nodded and the left. The detective team went to the murder site. Yuki flinched on seeing the body. Yabu noticed it.
“Yuki-Chan maybe you should return to your room. This is a bit too much for you, why don’t you go back to your room?” Yabu asked kindly.
{Ryosuke looked at the text in his phone. His eyes became filled with anger. He was getting annoyed.}
“No, its fine, I will be fine.” Yuki replied smiling weakly.
“I know you don’t want us to worry about you, but you should go to your room.” Mirai said kindly.
{Ryosuke clenched his fist; he was getting a lot more annoyed.}
“I said I will be fine!” Yuki replied.
“WHEN THEY SAID TO LEAVE, WHY DON’T YOU JUST GO TO YOUR ROOM?” Ryosuke yelled at her.
Yuki became stiff. She did not expect Ryosuke to get angry.
“Ryosuke….” Keito looked at him.
“No, seriously, this is not a child’s play! You know you are being affected by the scene! Why don’t you just obey them?” Ryosuke continued to scold her.
Yuki’s eyes filled with tears. She sniffed and ran out of the room. Niya followed her.
“Ryosuke, that was a bit too harsh. You should have not yelled at her.” Yabu looked at him.
“I know, but I could not help it. I was just shaken by this.” Ryosuke replied showing then the phone.
“You were worried about her?” Mirai looked at Ryosuke with pity.
‘I just was trying to stop her from getting involved much.” Ryosuke replied.
~In the garden around the house~
“Yuki! Wait!” Niya called out to the running girl.
Yuki stopped running. Niya caught up.
“Yuki, Ryosuke was worried about you. He does not want you to be affected by the scene.” Niya replied.
“But, he did not have to be so harsh.” Yuki gulped.
“He is not, something must have come up.” Niya replied kindly.
Yuki nodded. She wiped her tears and smiled. Niya smiled as well. There was a crack of twig. Niya looked around.
“Yuki, there is someone here.” Niya said looking at her.
“Niya-Chan, behind you!” Yuki yelped.
Niya looked behind, but before she does something, a bottle was smashed on to her head.
“NIYA-CHAN!” Yuki screamed, when someone covered her mouth.
~In the living room~
Ryosuke and the others heard Yuki’s scream. They ran out to the garden.
“NIYA!” Takaki screamed and pulled the girl’s unconscious body up.
“She is bleeding heavily. She needs medical attention.” Yabu said.
Yabu begin Treating Niya’s wound. Luckily it was not as serious as it seemed.
“Where is Yuki?” Keito asked.
The team looked at each other in shock. Yuki was missing.
~11:30pm: In an unknown room~
Yuki opened her eyes. She realized was that she was bound to a chair. Her hands had been tied on the arm rests and her legs were tied up as well. A cloth was used to gag her. She looked around in fright. She saw in another chair, Sayo was tied up.
“Sayo-Chan!” Yuki thought as she struggled.
A masked person arrived and pulled Sayo’s face up. He then took out a knife and stabbed the girl in the heart. Yuki whimpered loudly behind her gag. The person walked towards her with the blood stained knife.
“No…No…SOMEONE SAVE ME!” Yuki shut her eyes tightly.
