Hate

Sounds horrible.

There's no crusading newspaper / website reporter who'd like to shine some bright light down the fucker's hole?

One of the difficulties in getting reporters to cover stories like this - particularly in Oakland, is that they are afraid. And with good reason. Not sure you have heard of Chauncey Bailey?

He was about the only reporter willing to publish on Your Black Muslim Bakery. Not that other reporters didn't know about it, they just didn't want to report. For his troubles he was shot. Oakland police behaved in typical fashion. Perhaps they could have done more to protect him. It wasn't until after he was shot that anything was done to stop a gang that had terrorized not only my street, but many other streets in oakland as well as brutalizing very young girls. It was pretty messy.

You know, we actually did spend some time thinking about moving to other cities where the city government is not so corrupt, you don't hear gunshots as a matter of a regular evening, and we could probably afford a large house with a lovely yard that isn't dangerous. But in the end, we decided to buy the house we are currently living in and we should close escrow this week. One of the pluses, though, is that the Hodo Soy factory and Kaia Food Co. is across the street We plan to wake up and go across the street knocking on their roll-up doors asking to borrow a cup of kale chips and nutritional yeast flakes.
