I do wonder sometimes if we're condemned to have relationships with the same people, over and over again. Not physically the same people - though there are similarities there too - but people with the same backgrounds, same personality quirks, same fears.

I want something desperately but I'm too scared to go near it. So I tell myself not to hope that I'll ever get it because if I hope to get it and I don't, that would be unbearable.

Just did something I've never done before. I registered to run a 10K race in October. I'm not a huge fan of running, but I thought this would be a good idea because 1) I want to be more fit and 2) I need an athletic goal. The combination of hunger, melancholy, thirst, frustration and exhaustion can do strange things to your cognition.
