The most promising new animal figures in 2011

Feb 07, 2011 23:30

Now, when we know what all the major brands are introducing this year, it's high time to kinda sum up the news and share our expectations.
So, among all the new stuff, what are the most promising and exciting figures for you personally? What are figures are you willing to buy the most?
Here’s my Top-10 of 2011 must-haves in decreasing order:
1. Bullyland Lammergeier (What a surprise - Bully on the 1st place of my personal chart!! Never though I'd ever say that...)
2. Papo Mandrill (a monkey at last!!! and it looks good!)
3. Safari Capybara (every new S. American species is precious for me, and this one seems to be in scale with my other neotropical critters)
4. Schleich Kudu
5. Schleich Badger
6. Schleich Cape Buffalo
7. Papo Young Lioness
8. Papo Marmot
9. Bullyland Common Buzzard
10. Schleich Grey Goose
(No Schleich in the Top-3 - what a surprising year for me! )

The biggest surprises-2011 for me:
- new model range and, hopefully, quality improvement of Bullyland
- Schleich wolverine

The biggest disappointments-2010:
- No new trees by Schleich or CollectA
- Retirement of Schleich black bears
- No new South Asian animals by Schleich…

P.S.: It was very interesting to compare my "promising Top-10" of 2010 at the end of last year, when I actually seen and/or bought all the new animals. The biggest disappointment was Schleich Malayan Tapir which took #3 in my "must-have chart", but I didn't like it at all when it hit store shelves... And Schleich warthogs - #2 in my pre-chart - became the leaders of my personal preference in 2011.
