Tom Nook Help

Hi there, I'm new here. I came here, hoping someone might be able to help me with Tom Nook's shop (Gamecube AC btw).. Now I know that when you pay of your mortgage he'll offer to upgrade your house and he'll upgrade his store too.. But.. My house has already undergone 3 upgrades.. and his store hasn't been upgraded at all. I'm thinking it has

How much have you bought from him? Maybe you haven't bought enough stuff?

Maybe, but from what I was told, he is supposed to update when your house is remodeled, and I've also heard that the money you spend to pay off your dept also counts towards that. Well, I'll keep buying things here and there and see.

I think that one has to either buy - or sell - a certain amount of bells' worth of items @ Tom Nook's, and he should upgrade his store. In order to get to the biggest upgrade, someone from another town can come in and visit your town, and buy sometime from him. However if not, the next-largest level to which he updates is still quite good.
