This is a great boxed set - as nearly everything Rhino Records puts out is. It's even more focused than their earlier one, Loud, Fast & Out of Control: The Wild Sounds of '50s Rock.

I don't think there's ever been a musical genre (or style or whatever you want to call it) that was more pure fun than rockabilly. It might not have been profound, but when it's that much fun who cares?
