Animanga LIMS Round Two: CH. 2 RESULTS

Jun 10, 2007 20:21

Hahaha, I noticed a lot of comments, even in the votes, on how bad the images were this week (i.e. bad, evil, SATAN in picture form). I assure you that adaneko and I didn't do it on purpose as we thought they weren't that bad at all. So, anyway, this week we will have less elims due to all the skips. Keep in mind, though, that this means there will be more eliminations next week (thank you to analytically for that suggestion). On to the results now!

There were twelve eliminees this week:

CHALLENGE 2-2 MODS' CHOICES:

(#65 by kanrinin)
nyaabo's comments: THE COLORS. So rich! They make me WAO (a good WAO). I really love everything about this icon. The font choice is perfect, and the placement works really nicely with the image. I usually don't like thick borders on icons, but this border frames the crop so well. I have nothing bad to say about this icon. Good job!

(#25 by sal_the_baka)
nyaabo's comments: Though I'm not too fond of the background color, this icon really caught my eye. The colors are nice and bright on Hikaru, but what really got my attention was that the cut-out effect was executed perfectly. I love the clean edges and how the text behind Hikaru act as speedlines. It really gives the icon a nice flow. It's really a lovely icon~

(#21 by kotake)
adaneko's comments: 21 caught my eye instantly because it was completely greyscale but used rainbow colors as the accents. What I really love about it is how elegant the rainbow colors are used because they can turn out really gaudy most of the time. The small bars and the lights really give the icon a sophisticated look, and the crop masks the problem of Misaki's arm being weird in the picture. Also, the texture in the black is nice and subtle. A very beautiful icon!

(#28 by aikorin)
adaneko's comments: 28 is interesting to me not necessarily because of the image orientation, but mostly because of the way the image is blended into the background. The fade is very nice, and the text is easy to read without looking boring or too distracting. I can really see this as a poster on a wall. You did a great job with layers!

nyaabo's runner-ups: #21, #22, #71
adaneko's runner-ups: #13, #65, #70
