This is tough. I'm seeing a few characters possibly working for you. O_O; Arren from Tales from Earthsea (...but only when he's not crazy, lolz!); Therru from the same movie; Mr. Kusakabe from My Neighbor Totoro; Seita's cousin and Setsuko from Grave of the Fireflies; Shizuku from Whisper of the Heart; Haru Yoshioka from The Cat Returns; Mrs. Osono from Kiki's Delivery Service; and Shô (Shawn in the US version) from The Secret World of Arrietty are the ones I'm seeing the most (but not necessarily all of them, lolz. I just have to narrow it down or I'll never get anywhere! O_O;). Out of all of those characters, I kind of think I see Shizuku, Haru, and Shô the most...but, Shô is very understandably depressed a lot of the time, so I think I'm leaning more towards a Shizuku (personality/story info) and Haru (personality info, some more info) double-vote

I uh... I've only seen Howl and I saw The Cat Returns forever ago so I'm sorry in advance for my vote D; I could see Sophie a bit, but I could really see Haru as well. In the MAL page for her she's described as a "quiet, shy, and unassuming" personality which as a whole I think fits you pretty well! I remember Haru being caring, observant, creative, playful, polite, and understanding... But I think she was a bit shy, anxious, a daydreamer, naïve, and indecisive. I think she was an optimist/idealist, cautious, trusting, a follower, dependent, and modest to a fault as well... :)
I actually think quite a lot of Ghibli heroes and heroines have things in common with you, from what I know, but the ones I thought of the most are Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle, Risa from Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea & Kaonashi from Spirited Away in his normal state... in the end, though, I thought that Sophie is the best fit for you, being very caring, observant, creative, playful, polite, and understanding, as well as shy, anxious, somewhat of a daydreamer, naïve, lazy, and indecisive. While she doesn't show your negative traits quite as much as her positive ones, she still posesses them in one way or another, haha. Big crowds and new social situations make her feel uncomfortable and nervous, too, as shown in the beginning when she felt very anxious going out, she definitely sticked with her close friends and family, as she talked with her sister and didn't really knew many other people until she was turned. When Howl told her she wasn't right in saying she looked plain and not pretty, she kind of brushed it off with a joke,

I only watched a few Studio Ghibil movies, so sorry if my vote is not accurate. From your application, I can easily see both Haru from The Cat's return and Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle fitting in. However, I'm going with Haru! Like you, she's caring, observant and is shy and indecisive. I can see her as someone who would rather run away from problems (as seem from the last part of the movie) and all the test results you gotten fits her pretty well too. I can see her as more dependent and modest as well, and your general question section fits her well, especially the fact that you don't enjoy conflicts as well as not doing anything when someone cuts your line.
I haven't seen any of the movies but I'm familiar with quite a few characters and I actually thought of Sophie myself (especially after reading the reasoning above), though I can see quite a bit Haru, as well. It might be just that I am not familiar enough with the character. Sophie seems to me like the more quiet, somewhat withdrawn type but he does have her moments of determination and persistence. She also comes off as rather polite, understanding, caring, observant, playful and a daydreamer type. While I'm not sure about this, I could see her fitting The Loyalist type, as well. Apparently she does have some confidence issues, as well? And I could easily see her as a type who would rather avoid conflict but she could be good at it if she was annoyed enough. I could also see her reacting in very similar way as you in the following question. She doesn't seem like the type who would show her annoyance openly unless pushed far enough? I hope I don't sound too off with my vote.
