This is tough, but I kept going back-and-froth between Howl from Howl's Moving Castle (info); Marco Pagott (Porco Rosso) from Porco Rosso (info, some more personality info with SPOILERS, more character info, even more info, & a review...since that might seem like an odd mention, lolz); Haku from Spirited Away (info); and Seiji from Whisper of the Heart (info, some more info). I'm kind of torn between Marco Pagott and Seiji, so I apologize for not being helpful and giving you a double-vote. Still, where one character doesn't fit I kind of see the other and vice-versa! Anyways, both Marco and Seiji fit for the ENFP description: they have charm, they're spontaneous, demonstrative, full of potential, able to inspire/motivate others (they do that a lot during both of their films!), and they dislike doing things that don't interest them. Both characters have an unusually broad range of skills/talents and they're good at most things that interest them. The Type 4 description fits more for Marco overall, but elements of it work for ( ... )

Both are pretty independent compared to other characters in their casts, and your answer to the "persistent or laid-back" question seems fitting for them too: "i tend to be more laid back about things that need to be done (i am the worst kind of procrastinator); on the other hand, if i know i'm right and you're wrong i will ~persist~ in proving that point to you and anyone else willing to listen or i can force to listen to me". What you would change about yourself could fit for both characters. How you view conflict fits for Marco a lot in particular, but I could see Seiji being more rude if someone cuts in front of him in line (and complaining about it afterwards!) and even having the same reasons to fight to save the world as you would. Both would fight defensively at first, but "once i go on the offensive there's really no coming back from that. it's on, shit just got real" fits a lot more for Marco! XD

(Sorry! I didn't realize I had written enough for it to need two comments. O_O;)

Gah...this is hard, because I can actually see Howl, Marco, Haku, and Seiji all being rather good fits for you at times throughout your application. Overall...I do rather like the Marco and Seiji combination for you (though I think there were times when I was really tempted to also vote Howl as well ( ... )

I considered several of the Lupin characters, and I can see both of the votes above (especially Marco), but I keep on wanting to say Howl. He fits the ENFP description quite well, many of the negatives of type 4 (aside from shy), and much of the CN description also fits well. He's definitely comfortable with his eccentrics, is actually fairly good at reading people (or else many of his ideas would've never worked), and has a lot more humor than most of the Studio Ghibli characters. He's occasionally careless with other people, does express a competitive spirit considering his role in the war, and is intelligent but I can see people saying he doesn't use it to his full potential ( ... )

I apologize if I sound wrong but not seeing most of Ghibli movies, I can't ever be confident if I perceive the characters right. I myself have been actually thinking of Howl the most, along with a few Lupin characers as they're the ones that strike me as quite eccentric and chaotic neutral types. As mentioned, I could easily see him as ENFP since as I know, he is rather spontaneous, full of potential, someone who is quite intelligent and can talk their way in or out of things. He also seem like the type who'd dislike performing uninteresting tasks as well as the one to inspire others (as I assume Sophie's change was all his doing?). Your positive and negative traits also fits him well, as far as I know. While he is eccentric, he does seem to be okay with that as he appears rather confident, he has sense of humour and can be kinda narcissistic? Howl is someone with energy and while I might be wrong here, he does seem like a somewhat cynical type to me? He is quite indepdenent and, again, I might not be right but I think a term " ( ... )

Admittedly, I haven't seen many Ghibli movies, but from what I did see Howl surely stands out when it comes to being similar to you, haha. Your application sounds quite like him right from the start, I'd definitely describe Howl as someone who has zany charm, and is typically very bright and full of potential, he's very much able to inspire and motivate others and talk his way in or out of anything, of course, he rather dislikes performing small and uninteresting tasks, being the playful person that he is. Your Chaotic Neutral description makes me think of Howl, too, as typically he doesn't care too much about what happens to others, without going out of his way to harm others. Without a doubt, he's comfortable with all of his various eccentricities, just like you, and I believe it was even a very big plot point (well, at the very least in the book?), he's insightful & good at reading people, hence why he's so great at dating, flirting and the like, not to mention he was able to tell Sophie was under a spell from the start. I'd say ( ... )
